So…. when I started the 3×5 Arcana blog, serving dungeon game stuff in a love language of 3×5 index cards, I just used the first and most convenient service I saw. It was Substack. But I’ve moved. I’m going to tell you why.

If you subscribed, you’ll keep getting my newsletter pretty seamlessly. You can follow the new 3×5 Arcana newsletter/blog here.

Oh, also, at the end of this post I’ll give you a new magic item for your dungeon game.

If you don’t know, Substack has not responded well to its Nazi problem. Early on, I was like…. my buddhist dad has a substack. Articles of Interest has a substack. My gay catholic cousin has a substack. It’s a piece of infrastructure, like roads; everyone uses roads. You can’t boycott roads because fascists drive. It does nothing, it goes nowhere.

But I write about OSR/NSR dungeon stuff, which is a community that has had its own work to do kicking the nazis out of the bar. I’m grateful to the people who did that work, grateful for the welcoming space it is today — I like it here.

So when a friend was kind enough to pull me aside and gently tell me “you should probably leave substack,” and one of those options was to fold it into a subdomain of 3×5arcana.com, was like alright, yeah, let’s go. (That link has a lot of easy alternatives to it, if you’re in a similar position as I was.)

And look, I don’t know if everyone should leave substack or whatever, and I’m not calling my dad (or my cousin, or Avery Trufelman, or you) wrong if you use it. I just moved.

Anyway. The address is now blog.3×5arcana.com

Back to dungeon stuff!

My ongoing promise to you, dear reader, is that I will include a gameable index card for your next dungeon game in every post. So without further ado:
